Survival of the fittest doesn't apply to everyone especially when you live on Animal Farm. On the farm the animals all hope to live in harmony, but unless you have the intellegence to understand when you are being lied to. Some animals are smart; some aren't so bright but if you understand the lies being told you are sure to live. Its not the pigs that will kill you, but it is your ability to know when deciet is around you.
The first animal I want to talk about is Squeeler. He is the person who twists the stories. The first time he twists a story is when lies to the animals about beds. The fourth commandment reads " No animal shall sleep in a bed." Later on in the story the animals notice the commandments look different; the fourth commandment now reads " No animal shall sleep in a bed with sheets." When the animals confront him he says the commandment has always said this and that anywhere you sleep is a bed. The second time he twists a story is with Boxer's death. The van that boxer gets taken away in was a horse slaughterer but Squeeler tells the animals that he died in a luxurious hosptal. The last story that he twists is the story of how the windmill was destroyed. Truly the windmill was wrecked in a storm. Squeeler tells the animals that Snowball destroyed the windmill on purpose.
This is how Squeeler has mastered and twisted the stories.
The second character I'm going to talk about is Benjamin. He is the smartest animal besides the pigs. Since he is so smart this make him less gullable to the propoganda told by Squeeler. Benjamin's first show of this is when the commandments are changed. he is the only one that can read the words, " No animal shall drink alchohol in access." The second time he displays his intellegence is when he reads the side of the van that picks Boxer up. He says to the animals, " You fools, do you not see what is written on side of that truck?'' Since he is able to decide for himself what he wants to believe; this enables him to play along with the lies and deciet to stay alive.
The last character is Boxer. Boxer is kind, trusting, and hard working. He is very dedicated to the ideals of Animal Farm. Boxer's incredible dedication, strength, and loyalty plays a key role in the success of Animal Farm and later the completion of the windmill. One of his Mottos is, " I will work harder." Boxer's defense of Snowball shows his honesty and integrity. He made sure that he addressed Snowball's bravery at the Battle of Cowshed. This displays that he might be strong and honest but he wasn't smart enough to keep his mouth shut. Even though boxer did as he was told
he was still betrayed by the pigs when they sell him to a glue factory when he got hurt for a case of whiskey. Unfortunatley for Boxer being helpful and strong didn't keep him alive.
The ability to understand stories is a key element in surviving on Animal Farm. On Animal farm you must understand the lies to stay alive and be able to draw the line between truth and lie. If you are able to master this you will prosper, but if this masters you will fail to survive. some animals on the farm are smart enough to survive some are just unable to understand but either way the way they respond to these stoies determines whether they live or die. Stories are powerful things, but the one who understands them can change them.

Animal Farm Question Paragraph
Napoleon has all the makings of a dictator, concerned only with himself, instilling fear inthe animals, giving them no choice but to follow his lead by acts of intimidation, their only option being compliance.First, the animals take over the farm, they think it is the start of a better life. “The animals were happy as they had never conceived it possible to be. Every mouthful of food was an acute positive pleasure, now that it was truly their own food, produced by themselves and for themselves, not doled out to them by a grudging master.” However, Napoleon slowly transforms into Mr. Jones, but far more corrupt than Jones had ever been. Secondly, Napoleon is a bully and a tyrant and hungers for control, having a reputation for getting his own way. He is eventually overcome by greed and soon becomes power-hungry. He announced that in the future all questions relating to the farm would be settled by a special committee of pigs.” Lastly, Napoleon’s true side shows through after he slaughters many animals who plotted against him. He had confiscated nine puppies, training them to be police dogs that act as his security guards. Not only are they given special privileges, they also act as executioners, tearing out the throats of animals that confess to treachery. Napoleon’s method of “getting his own way” involves a combination of propaganda and terror. His final act of propaganda is changing the Seventh Commandment to “All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.” The animals had no choice but to believe Napoleon’s lies because any means of protest against a dictatorship would surely have disastrous, if not deadly, results.

IRB Log #4
In this IRB log I have reached chapter 8. From chapter 6 through 8 the story becomes very dark and brings you into it and makes you feel like you are a part of the story. This give you of how the character is feeling and shows you why he steals and lies. It is to show that he is no ordinary thief, but he is Montmorency.

In the book Montmorency, after an hour of reading I've gotten up to chapter 6 from chapter 3. I'm in the middle of chapter 6 where Montmorency finds himself finally getting out of prison in London. He begins to utilize the advantage of a sewer system to rob houses and create a new criminal life these are some of the things I've learned during my reading.

Topic source essay #2
My second topic that I used to find out information about Lafayette is the Complete History of The U.S. Army. This book is filled with over one thousand pages and tells every thing the U.S. Army did in chronological order from the Revolutionary War until present day. In this books I managed to find many things about the Marquis De Lafayette; for example i found out that even though he was buried in France they used American soil to fill his grave for he did not consider himself a Frenchman but an American. One other interesting thing I learned was any deceandant of Lafayette i entitled to a U.S. passport. These are just a few of the many things I learned about Lafayette from this source.

The Most Dangerous Game character essay
The Most Dangerous Game is a very complex story. At issue is a debate as to whether each character favors liberty or equality. The main character, Rainsford , surely portrays being in favor of liberty. Rainsford is a very successful hunter, however, he is not very respectful of the animals he hunts. Rainsford tells Whitney that " the world is made up of two classes, the hunters and the huntees," which clearly indicates he believes he is far superior to the animals he hunts. He does exhibit compassion when Zaroff suggests Rainsford should be able to handle murder since he fought in the war. Rainsford replied that his experience at war, " Did not make me condone cold-blooded murder." Zaroff on the other hand, has no regard for human or animal life as he abuses both for his own amusement. At the conclusion of the story , Rainsford has not changed into an uncaring hunter. He now knows he must rid the world of Zaroff, to prevent any more harm to innocent humans and animals.

Topic Source Essay
My source that i used to look up information about The Marquis De Lafeyette was Patriots point.org. Its is an archive based website with flash videos and articles written by college professors. It explains many peoples opinions on how Lafayette affected the outcome of the revolution. Some say that without him the United States would have stumbled and lost to the British. There are many others who say that he was insignificant and would not have made a difference whether he joined or not.The videos given out on this website are from the history channel and PBS; they broadened my ideas as to what to tell people about my topic. On this site I learned and aquired plenty of more knowledge about this man it even gave me many picture that i will be using for my NHD project. This website was very helpful to me in many ways especially with helping find pictures for my project.
